C I N D E R E L L A
From the tales by Charles Perrault and The Brothers Grimm
A plague ravaged kingdom. A prince in quarantine. A godmother who necromances the dead, and a heroine who will not be silenced. This is CINDERELLA for a modern audience.
'Cinderella' premiered at Red Hen Theatre Company in December of 2018.

SWEEP HARD. PARTY HARDER.
A plague ravages the kingdom, claiming the lives of Ella's mother and brother. Years pass, and things have only gotten worse. Her best friend Prince Max is still quarantined in the castle, and her drunken father is getting remarried to a cold woman with two terrible daughters.
They strip Ella of her identity, her dignity, and force her to live as a servant in her own home.
But when news of the palace reopening for a grand ball reaches the kingdom, Ella's raven-winged godmother appears to raise the spirits of the past and work a little magic not only to ensure Ella gets the night out that she deserves, but to find her strength as well.
This 'Cinderella' combines both the Perrault and the Brothers Grimm telling to bring out the darker tones of the story, while infusing it with a healthy dose of humor.
